Japan Travels Part 5: Flowers of Rebun Island

Happy wildflower hikers

Our hike on Rebun Island was so amazingly full of beautiful wildflowers I had to make a separate post just for the flower pics! You can read all about our stay there in Part 4 of this series. In this post you’ll just find the record of all the amazing flowers we saw along our walk.

Many of Rebun Island’s flowers are unique to the area. This guide gives the name and photos of some notable blooms, several of which we saw.
The Momoiwa Observatory path is narrow and flower-filled.
The landscape around the hilltop drops away behind flowers near the trail.
Mt. Rishiri in the background, lovely wildflowers in the foreground.
A closer look at these stunning blooms that reminded me of yucca.
These reminded me of Queen Anne’s Lace
These looked like some kind of columbine.
There were even a few irises growing on the hilltop

Thanks, Rebun Island, for some amazing landscape both near and far!
